We took a trip recently to the Oregon Coast. Lincoln City/Newport to be exact. We hadn’t been there for a few years and were missing it. Before our fabulous move to Cascade Locks, we would frequent the beach a couple times a year.
This recent trip was wonderfully great as always, but with a hint of, I’m way gladder to be home now, than before our move to the Locks.
Living in the big cities is a completely different vibe/feeling. (Obviously!) And I felt it!
Living in the Locks is a feeling you can’t quite explain beyond saying how awesome it is.
When we returned home from our two-day beach trip, and I took a seat on our front porch, which faces our majestic mountains, it all came in crystal clear.
There’s no place greater than the of the living Gorge!

I grew up there. Attended grades 1 -12 there. It was an idyllic little town full of beauty and nature. I learned how to swim in the Columbia River. Hiked all the nearby trails and falls. I knew some wonderful families and still have many of my childhood friends and companions in my life. It is now a magical place I will always call home. And absolutely GORGEous! ♥️
Hi Vicki!
Thank you for the fantastic response! Yes, Cascade Locks is absolutely beautiful and wonderful! Are you still in the area? Did you move too far away for a regular visit? If you’re ever back in town, give us holler!
